2017 has been a record year for the Andrea Bocelli Foundation in terms of overall funds raised, number and importance of projects, growth of the operating team and structure. Last year we have expanded our activities with important projects also in Italy: ABF, in partnership with Only the Brave Foundation, has built in only 150 days a new school for the students of Sarnano, a village in central Italy heavily hit by the earthquake in 2016. The school designed according to the most modern earthquake-proof techniques, and in collaboration with the Extraordinary Government Commissioner for Reconstruction, has ben donated “turnkey” to the local administration...

The concert in Verona will also be the evening that will give our SMS fundraising campaign the most visibility and media exposure. The fundraising is focused on ABF’s project “Educate to Grow”. This year it is supporting the reconstruction of the pre-school and primary school of Muccia, a municipality in the Marches region located by the epicentre of the Central Italy earthquake of 2016...

Se penso a una scuola, penso ad una fabbrica. La più preziosa fabbrica io possa immaginare. Come una fabbrica, la scuola produce, anche se non ha macchinari rumorosi o camini che sbuffano... Una scuola è una grande fabbrica di saperi, di competenze, e dunque di futuro. È per questo che l’apertura della Scuola Manitane ritengo sia una ottima notizia per l’intera comunità di Dame Marie e per l’intera nazione haitiana.

Amongst the participants The New York Times Director Dean Baquet, The Wall Street Journal Director Gerard Baker and The Washington Post Director Martin Baron, as well as the News Heads of the main world Digital Platforms.

On both nights - like in past editions - the Andrea Bocelli Foundation will be present together with its volunteers and will take the opportunity to outline their projects realized in 2017-2018, (also thanks to the fundraising initiative launched during the previous edition of the “Teatro del Silenzio”) and will invite to join forces to support their ongoing educational projects in Haiti
