This evening, a gala fundraiser at the iconic Palazzo Vecchio will celebrate 160 years of the Principality of Monaco’s Florence Consulate

Florence, Italy (April 12, 2023) – Today, HSH Prince Albert II and HSH Princess Charlène of Monaco visited Florence to celebrate the city’s 160th anniversary Consulate of the Principality of Monaco. On the occasion, this afternoon the Prince and Princess visited the Andrea Bocelli Foundation’s (ABF) global headquarters, located in the famed baroque Palazzo San Firenze in the historic city center, alongside the organization’s Founder Andrea Bocelli and its Vice Chair Veronica Berti Bocelli. Also present were ABF Chairman Stefano Aversa and President Laura Biancalani who, alongside the ABF team, welcomed the Royal couple to tour spaces dedicated to the ABF GlobaLAB (link), a vocational center leveraging unique education methodologies focused on youth aged of 16-25.

Additionally, this evening, alongside ABF leadership team, HSH Prince Albert II and HSH Princess Charlène will attend a fundraiser gala organized by the Consulate of Monaco at Palazzo Vecchio’s iconic “Salone dei 500” (“Hall of the 500”), organized by the Consulate of Monaco. Part of the evening’s proceeds will support key projects for both the Andrea Bocelli Foundation and Prince Albert II Foundation: a synergic collaboration to help promote a more sustainable future through the organizations’ respective missions. Indeed, in the past the Prince Albert II Foundation has supported ABF projects such as the “ABF Water Truck” in Haiti.

About the Andrea Bocelli Foundation (ABF)

The Andrea Bocelli Foundation was established in July 2011 by Bocelli family after being inspired by the affection and positivity received from fans and partners around the world. ABF has since grown into an independent non-profit led by world-class professionals that oversee the strategic development of key projects. The Foundation’s core mission is to empower people and communities in situations of poverty, illiteracy, distress due to illness and social exclusion by promoting and supporting national and international projects that promote the overcoming of these barriers and the expression of their full potential.

ABF implements and promotes education projects that leverages music as an additional tool for social inclusion and talent development, all in line with the United Nations’ 2030 Agenda Goal Number 4.7. Since 2011, ABF has raised approximately 46 million Euros in fundraising efforts resulting in the construction of 9 schools in Italy and Haiti, as well as a project focused on transforming Italian paediatric hospital education, in total offering daily access to a world-class learning to over 20,500 students.

Additionally, ABF has created welfare projects that guarantee access to clean water and basic medical treatment to over 400,000 people living in the most remote and impoverished areas of Haiti.
